JOINING OUR CHURCH FAMILY

Becoming a Member

Becoming a member of Starnes Cove is about more than attending services— it's about joining a family of fellow believers, committed to supporting each other in love and mission. “So we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.” (Romans 12:5) reminds us of our interconnectedness in Christ, while Hebrews 10:24-25 encourages us not to neglect meeting together, but to spur one another toward love and good deeds, emphasizing the importance of community in our spiritual walk.

Baptism

Your decision to be baptized is a powerful outward expression of your inner faith & commitment to a life with Christ. It's a step of obedience, following Jesus' example and command. Matthew 28:19 commands us to baptize disciples in the name of the Trinity, marking the start of a lifelong journey of faith. Romans 6:4 beautifully captures the essence of baptism, symbolizing our death to sin and new life in Christ, “We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.”

BEING THE HANDS AND FEET

Serving God's Kingdom

God has endowed each of us with unique gifts and talents, intending for us to use them in service to one another and His kingdom. 1 Peter 4:10 calls us to be good stewards of God's varied grace, serving one another with the gifts each of us has received. Ephesians 2:10 echoes this sentiment, reminding us we are created for good works, which God prepared beforehand for us to walk in. Serving within our church and community allows us to live out these good works, finding fulfillment and purpose.

JOINING A FELLOWSHIP OF BELIEVERS

Joining a Group

In small groups, we find a place of belonging, learning, and encouragement. They offer a space to grow in our understanding of the Bible, support each other in prayer, and navigate life together. Proverbs 27:17, “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another,” speaks to the importance of mutual growth and encouragement, while Galatians 6:2 urges us to bear one another's burdens, fulfilling the law of Christ. These gatherings are where deep, meaningful relationships are forged, and faith is lived out in community.
